Making Ways for the Elderly is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting senior citizens and their caregivers through specialized dementia care, education, and respite services. We provide compassionate assistance through initiatives such as the Caring Closet, which supplies essential items, and our food distribution program, ensuring that no senior goes without the resources they need to live with dignity and respect. Additionally, we empower family members by offering training in dementia care, chronic disease management seminars, and support groups, equipping caregivers with the knowledge and resources to provide effective, compassionate care to their loved ones. To further address the growing need for caregivers, MWE, Inc. has relaunched the CNA initiative, a program aimed at combating the shortage of certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in Georgia and other states. Participants can obtain their CNA license in Georgia, with opportunities for reciprocity in other states, expanding their employment prospects nationwide. The program provides support for tuition, gas, uniforms, and other essential expenses, helping more individuals access training and enter the caregiving workforce. According to recent statistics, the shortage of nursing assistants has become a critical concern, with demand for CNAs projected to increase as the aging population grows. Baby boomers are aging rapidly, with the senior population expected to double by 2060. Additionally, the rise in Dementia and Alzheimer's diagnoses further highlights the need for trained caregivers capable of providing specialized care. Many family caregivers are unexpectedly thrust into caregiving roles, often lacking the necessary training and support. To address this, MWE, Inc. provides "Me Time" support group meetings and caregiver time-out sessions, where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and enjoy meals or events with other caregivers.
